Technological Perspective
I have always been a firm believer that technology is mans’ way of simplifying and making things easier as to free up more time to have a personal life. Then to play ‘devil’s advocate’, with that free time we do more work and then hate the technology. Realistically, we do both.
Some of the things I do with technology to make my life easier are as follows:
- I remote into a lot of computers for work, so I have set up LOGMEIN on each computer and manage them with LOGMEIN Central
- I do a lot of remote desktop sessions so on top of LOGMEIN, I use TSMMC to manage all the connections and I can quickly click between them all to get into a server, or home computer, to do work.
- I am busy and cannot keep up with news, so I use ‘feedly’ (its available for iOS and Andriod) to get all my news via RSS feeds aggregated into this app.
- I have recently migrated all my documents (docx, pptx, xlsx, pdf, etc.) to google documents. You just have to try it out. I used iCloud, even waited months for it and it failed to meet my needs for two reasons: All the files are sorted into the applications (numbers, pages, keynotes) by type (documents, spreadsheets, presentations) and second, its just a huge clusterfark of them too. With google Docs I have folders and the online editor, so I can throw them where I want. Also, the google docs ‘desktop’ editor looks nice on the iPad.
- For pictures I use Picasa, or I am going to, I haven’t gotten that far yet to pay for the extra space and upload them all.
- I let google or iCloud manage my calendar and contacts so they are never lost.
- I use RDIO for music, $9.99/month. Live radio stations I use “TuneIn Radio.”
- If you can’t tell I am all about cloud based storage, the less I keep on my computer or network, the less I have to lose.

Online Presence
- Website – design and implement a full online website utilizing WordPress and Facebook photo album integration giving Master Cayer the ability to post pictures to Facebook and propagate automatically to the website. Implemented a calendar that can be synced to anyone’s smartphones allowing for instant access to events and classes available to students that is also viewable through the website as well.
- Social Media – Linked Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube all together for more singular posting and online recognition for karate videos, updated news.
- Google Ads – Increase traffic to the site through a targeted Google ads campaign in partnership through LocalEdge.
- Online Academy – Master Cayer wanted to give students a place outside the Dojo to augment their in class training with videos and requirement lists for rank promotion needs. This was accomplished with Moodle and hours of recorded video by our team in the Dojo.
Management Consulting
- Recognize top profit avenue as being the kids’ class and capitalize on it by placing Master Cayer in charge of the most important class in his Dojo and in 30 days noticed a substantial boost in enrollment by 33%. This built the respect of parents who in turn told friends and families. The children received a much more structured and fun training and told their friends. This also allowed Master Cayer to recognize the need to change up the training routine and improve upon his techniques with the children.
- Restructure of black belt team and scheduling allowing for Master Cayer to take a more passive roll in the adult class and allowing his black belts to be more active and more present in class and established a schedule for them to follow every week allowing for more intensive classes for the adults that is more impactful on performance and promotion of health and improving on leadership of the black belts.
- Expanding other opportunities for profit by utilizing the Dojo for more classes even through out the day, such as a class for local Special Forces military training in hand-to-hand combat and a Law Enforcement Officer Class for teach street tactics to Police and Military Police.
The Struggle
The decision I made to come here was because I was running away. I had everything I wanted finally and I ran away. This speech reminds me that even when things go wrong, we don’t run away from our dreams. We stand strong against the wind, the tide, the people, and we fight and struggle for life, for love, and for our dreams.
The Exile…
I have spent years learning and practicing in university and in work. The processes of business analysis, project management, and more. After graduating its like leaving the garden with no return, only memories of the garden. Now it is merely the path to follow out away from the garden and put those processes to the task.
I have decided to create another section on here to write and show case studies of my own creation. Everything dealing with IT.

I have been sick since Saturday night. My adenoids once again were itchy and irritated and that turned into what feels like rocks in my nose, painful swallowing and tears from the pain. I don’t know how I managed to get through work this morning and a meeting, but I did. The guy who was in the sales pitch to us today is Jewish, which was a pleasant surprise. I made a new friend! Its funny, we both had Star of Davids on. lol. Will be very nice to have a new friend my age who is Jewish to hang out with. He was from NYC and married a woman in the military, Air Force to be exact.
Last night I was at Seder which went very well. I did manage to show up an hour late.
